Sudoku Champion 2010 has been crowned!

Sudoku Challenge 2010 
by department of Maths and Science

The SP 2010 Sudoku Challenge was held on 24th November 2010. It attracted close to 70 student and staff participants from various schools and departments vying to be crowned SP Sudoku Champion. The event kicked off at 3:15pm at LT7 with a preliminary round.

After the preliminary round, students proceeded to the Math and Science Corner for refreshment and games whilst anxiously awaiting the results of the preliminary round. The top 30 student participants were invited to a final round from which the Champion will be crowned. Non-finalists were entertained with various Math games and puzzles at the Math and Science Corner.

The champion of the student category was Ms Crystalline Poh, a first-year DBT student from the School of Chemical and Life Sciences. She clocked an impressive 5 minutes and 39 seconds to complete the challenging puzzle in the final round. The first runner-up was Mr Tai Boon Siang, a second-year DEEE student, whilst the second runner-up was Ms Chong Huey Lin, a third-year DRFSM student. Three consolation prizes were given to Ms. Tan Jie Ling (DAC), Mr. Mark Yeap (DEEE) and Ms. Chang Yi Ling Elaine (DIT) whom placed 4th, 5th and 6th respectively. The prizes were presented by MS director, Ms. Chao

The winner of the staff category was Mr. Ng Swee Beng from School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology.  Second was Mr. Yang Zhi Zong from School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Mr. Sng Teck Keong from the School of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering came in third.
